Ted Hartman Ted Hartman is the Owner and Training Director of West Coast K-9 Academy.  He is also the President and Certified Training Director of Coast Schutzhund Club (DVG), West Coast Schutzhund Club (USA), and West Coast Rottweiler Klub (USRC).  Ted is a DVG/dhv world recognized Schutzhund Judge as well as a National Level 1 Certified Helper with the DVG and Schutzund USA.  He has extensive helper and trial decoy experience.  Ted has been selected for over 30 Schutzhund trials & Breed Surveys since 1999 with 200+ dogs worked under the DVG, USA, WDA, USRC, UDC, and NAWBA, including two USA SWR Schutzhund Championships, three DVG WKG Schutzhund Championships, and three National Schutzhund Championships.  FCI World Championship, USA 3rd Ted has titled multiple breeds from BH, WH, AD, FH, SchH A, KKL1, through SchH1-3, VPG1-3, IPO3, with over 50 individule titles earned and has competed at club, regional, national and world level events.  Ted was selected as Team Captain & 1st Alternate of the 2002 FCI World Championship Team in Baunatal, Germany (USA 3rd Place) as well as Team Captain of the 2003 FCI World Championship Team in Wavre, Belgium (USA 5th Place).  2002 FCI World Championship team 2002 USA 3rd Place Baunatal, Germany 2003 FCI World Championship Team ARV National (99V) Currently, Ted has earned over 9000 points in Schutzhund Sport and has received dozens of awards internationally.  Included in these awards are: VDH Bronze, Silver and Gold Sports Medals, DHV Bronze and Silver Sports Medals, SchH USA Bronze, Silver, and Gold Sports Medals and USRC Bronze, Silver, and Gold Sports Medals.  Ted has also received three DVG Bronze Performance Medals for excellent V-rated performances at SchH3 and FH levels, as well as four DVG SchH3 H.O.T. Medals for dogs titled BH-SchH3.  Since 1997, Ted has been actively handling, training and titling dogs in Schutzhund Sport including the following: Stogie & Buck Buck vom Hartman: Male Doberman rescue, raised from a puppy by Ted and titled: BH, WH, SchHA (SG), SchH1(SG), SchH2(SG), SchH3(SG), IPO3(SG), FH(V) Buck & Ted worked on many MTV/VH1 videos and TV shows. Buck passed away in 2007 at 14 years old and is missed dearly. DVG National Championship Hedor vom Nürburgring: Male Rottweiler, imported by Ted and titled: BH, SchH1(V), 2x SchH2(V), 8x SchH3(SG), VPG3(SG), IPO3(SG). Hedor has also appeared in a couple of TV commercials as well as competing all over the country. Hedor qualified for many National and World Teams, he died of cancer in 2003 at the young age of five years old. Viper now lives with a family, kids and two dogs, he's a super personal protection as well as companion dog. Nacash was originally trained by a young lady in Germany and has over a dozen titles on him. Nacash is now retired and lives with a family, he continues to train for personal protection at West Coast K-9 Academy. VA1 Superioues Zathan Superioues Zathan: Male GSD, "2003 WDA Sieger" titled: BH, SchH1 (SG), by Ted under SV Judges.  Zathan is one of the top producing German Shepherds in America.  Many of his offspring as well as his owner are active members of our Schutzhund & Breed Clubs.
